Managing My Digital Life - Pilot Programme
Since September, all first-year students have been completing the Managing My Digital Life pilot programme through their SPHE and PE classes. The aim of this initiative is to strengthen students’ digital resilience and help them navigate the online world safely, confidently, and responsibly. Throughout the programme, students engage with topics such as cyberbullying, digital citizenship, online privacy, misinformation, screen time, gaming safety, and social media literacy. They work through a dedicated & free student booklet and use a range of interactive resources, including online presentations, Gamma teaching decks, and Kahoot! quizzes — all of which are available to parents via QR codes in the back of the student booklet. We will also make these resources available through the soon to be launched school app in the future.
To support the home–school link, we are also offering a series of short parent podcasts. These episodes are completely free to access, do not require a Spotify account, and provide grounded, research-informed advice on parenting digital natives. They include practical tips, reassurance, and useful conversation starters for moments when you need to check in with your child about their online life. Again, the spotify links are available through the student handbook.
